Neuropsychologist [Retired]

Dr. Ron Williams initially developed the neuropsychology department of the Fort Wayne Neurological Center, which under his leadership grew into Fort Wayne Neuropsychology, one of the largest and most successful neuropsychology practices in our region. Although Dr. William's has now retired from daily practice, he still remains involved and connected with his colleagues at the office.

 

Dr. William's Doctoral Degree was conferred by the Neuropsychology Program at Ball State University. He holds a Masters Degree in Geropsychology from the University of Notre Dame and his undergraduate degrees were in psychology and chemistry from Indiana University Bloomington. He is board certified in Neuropsychology by the American Board of Professional Neuropsychology (ABPN).

Dr. Williams has years of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of dementing illnesses such Alzheimer's disease as well as Parkinson's disease, stroke, traumatic brain injuries, MS and a wide range of other neurological and psychological conditions. He also has specialized training and experience in the treatment of insomnia. His published research has been focused on the development of neuropsychological measures for diagnosing and assessing impairment in dementing illnesses.

 

Dr. William's most recent publications and professional presentations have focused on the cognitive changes associated with multiple sclerosis. His practice has also involved forensic neuropsychology leading to work with attorneys and patients in personal injury cases that result in changes in abilities or other matters where issues pertaining to competency, responsibility, and judgement are in question. He is most well known for his work with older adults and the cognitive changes that occur with age, especially Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.
